To enter the video conference we need access to your camera

If you are experiencing issues with audio setup then please review the following troubleshooting steps:

General Advice

Close the browser/app and start again - If you connected headphones/speakers/mic after you opened Bilateral Base it may not pick up the accessory. Try closing and reopening Bilateral Base.
Check operating system settings - Your device’s audio setup is primarily controlled by your operating system. Bilateral Base can only access sound options that the operating system allows it to, so it’s worth checking those settings
Close other programs/apps - Sometimes other apps or programs can interfere with your device audio. Try closing other programs.
Restart your device - Restarting your system can also be effective in cleaning up any software bugs that may be blocking audio devices, especially if you don’t restart your device very often.

Audio Output Issues

Is your sound muted? This could be an option in your operating system settings or a physical switch on your speakers/headphones
3rd party sound test - Does your sound work on this sound test? (external site) This will help narrow down the cause by showing whether your mic issue is specific to Bilateral Base.

Left & Right Sound Issues For Audio Therapy (this is only relevant if your host has asked you to set up your device for audio therapy tools)

Sound coming to the wrong ear? - do you have your headphones/speakers on the wrong side?
Alternative device? - Try a different set of headphones or a different device if you have one available.
Occasionally there are device and audio output combinations that can produce unexpected results. Follow this guide to complete your setup.
Hearing sound in both ears of wireless headphones even after following instructions? (PC/Mac) You may have forgotten to connect your wireless headphones before reaching this audio setup page. To solve this, reload the webpage. When you arrive back at this audio setup page, select the mic that is built into your wireless headphones then switch back to an alternative mic (e.g. the mic built into your device) this should then trigger separate sound to be heard in your left and right ears.

Microphone issues

Is your microphone muted (this could be a setting on your device or sometimes a physical switch on your microphone
3rd party mic test - Does your microphone work using this mic test? (external site) This will help narrow down the cause by showing whether your sound issue is specific to Bilateral Base.
Try different mic options - Sometimes the names of microphone options are not always clear. Try all the different microphones in the dropdown list to see if any of the options will pick up your voice. If you decide to connect another microphone you will need to reload the web page so that the browser knows that a new mic has been connected.
